SAN JOSE, CA. (Top40 Charts/ San Jose Jazz) - San Jose Jazz wants to remind music fans they don't have to drive to Downtown San Jose to enjoy the 20th AT&T San Jose Jazz Festival on August 7-9, 2009. Capitol Corridor's passenger train service is a fast and affordable way to get to the show. With 16 stations in 8 Northern California counties, riders can hop on the train and relax on their way to Silicon Valley's premiere live music destination. Also, they can make the Jazz Festival a complete weekend event as Capitol Corridor riders heading to the Festival get a special $99 a night rate at the San Jose Marriott.

'We know money is tight for families especially in this current economy,' said Geoff Roach, executive director for San Jose Jazz. 'So instead of spending money on gas, why not take the train to this fantastic event? Capitol Corridor's quick and cost-saving train service aligns with our goal of making the San Jose Jazz festival an affordable and green destination for families throughout the Bay Area and Northern California.'

Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority Managing Director, Eugene Skoropowski agrees. 'On August 8 and 9, families can also take advantage of our 'Kids Ride Free on Weekends' discount. Two children 15 years and under can ride for free when accompanied by a full-fare paying adult. For eco-conscious jazz lovers, the combination of riding our train and taking advantage of the reduced room rate at the San Jose Marriot is a great opportunity to go green.' Admission to the AT&T San Jose Jazz Festival is free for children 12 and under.

Capitol Corridor stations include Auburn, Berkeley, Davis, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Martinez, Rocklin, Roseville, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Suisun-Fairfield; with direct connections to BART at the Richmond and Oakland Coliseum stations.

To reach the Festival grounds and the Marriott, Capitol Corridor riders must exit at the San Jose Diridon Station where they can ride the VTA Light Rail for free (to the Convention Center station). For details about the Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion visit https://www.kidsridefree.org/.

This year's festival will feature an eclectic mix jazz, blues, salsa, Latin jazz, R&B, electronica and many other forms of contemporary music. The lineup includes greats like Dee Dee Bridgwater, Allen Toussaint, The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Pete Escovedo, Buster Williams, LeRoy Bell, Winard Harper, Bettye Lavette, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, and many more for only $15 a day.
