Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Once Loudon Wainwright III had successfully demoed a couple dozen Poole songs for his new two-disc album 'High Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project,' he and producer Dick Connette cherry-picked the best musicians of the New York acoustic music scene to record the album.

Loudon began arranging songs with Chaim Tannenbaum (banjo, guitar, harmonica), with whom he'd busked the streets of London back in the '70s, and longtime collaborator David Mansfield (violin, mandolin, slide guitar; Bob Dylan, Ry Cooder, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams). The trio tested their arrangements at an informal show in a Lower East Side community garden last year. Check out the buskers performing here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GySaO3ll3cA

From there, Loudon called upon his talented family: Martha and Rufus Wainwright form a trio with Loudon on "Old And Only In The Way." Also featured are Lucy Wainwright Roche, Sloan Wainwright, Maggie Roche, Terre Roche, and Suzzy Roche, all making memorable appearances.

Others round out what became an all-star lineup:
Tim Luntzel (bass; Bright Eyes, Irma Thomas)
Rob Moose (tenor guitar, violin, resonator guitar; Antony & The
Johnsons; Sufjan Stevens; The Walkmen)
 Erik Friedlander (cello; John Zorn)
Geoff Muldaur (banjo; Paul Butterfield, Jim Kweskin)
Chris Thile (mandolin; Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers) ]
 C. J. Camerieri (trumpet, french horn; the National, David Byrne)
Gabriel Kahane (piano; Bill Frisell, Sufjan Stevens )
Matt Munisteri (guitar, banjo; Madelin Peyroux, Wynton Marsalis)
Ben Perowsky (drums; Uri Kaine, Dave Douglas, Joan as Police Woman)
Marcus Rojas (tuba; Aretha Franklin, Charlie Haden, Steven Bernstein)
 Wade Schuman (harmonica; Hazmat Modine)
