New York (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Diana Krall's 'Quiet Nights' Tour is off to an impressive start in her homeland of Canada, with critics lionizing the chart-topping jazz artist's "lush, melodic" show, "excellent band" (Globe and Mail, 5.15.09), raving that her "distinctive pipes sound even better live," and stunning "warmth, expressed as she punctuated songs with anecdotes and humour throughout the show" (Vancouver Sun, 5.13.09).

When the tour - featuring songs from Krall's new album 'Quiet Nights' (Verve) - begins its 49-date run in the US on June 5 in Waterbury, CT, audiences can expect a "flawlessly executed performance from all concerned. Krall's breathy, sultry vocals were in fine form," and her piano playing both "stylish and impeccable" (Winnipeg Sun, 4.23.09). Supporting Krall onstage "with near-telepathic skill and style" is drummer Jeff Hamilton, guitarist Anthony Wilson and bassist Robert Hurst. "Hamilton's gently swinging beats were the picture of understatement, Wilson's energetically burbling solos and sleek chords were a joy to behold, and Hurst's thick, massive basslines had the crowd in awe" (Winnipeg Sun, 4.23.09).

Krall has also just announced that the US leg of the 'Quiet Nights' Tour will also include special performances with a full orchestra in Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Highland Park, IL and Lenox, MA in addition to the previously announced dates at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

'Quiet Nights' is Krall's "gorgeous, Brazilian-inspired" (Dallas Morning News, 3.31.09) twelfth album, which debuted at No 3 on the Billboard Charts - a career best for the GRAMMY-winning artist.
