Charlottesville, VA. (Top40 Charts/ Atchafalaya Basinkeeper) - "Trees on Fire," a band with an environmental cause, has joined forces with a regional nonprofit organization to raise awareness about the preservation of the Atchafalaya Basin, as well as America's rivers and trees.

The band's partnership with Atchafalaya Basinkeeper will kick off Saturday, April 25, with a three-city tour through south Louisiana. The unique new musical experience combines "green" music with a theme of sustainability.

"Trees on Fire" will introduce its unique style of "Organica" music with appearances at Chelsea's Cafe in Baton Rouge April 25, at Artmosphere in downtown Lafayette April 29 and finally at The Boot in New Orleans May 2.

The musical group, which was named the Greenest Regional Band by Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine, will be touring the Atchafalaya Basin in the coming week with Dean Wilson, a highly-recognized environmentalist from the area, to get a first hand view of the numerous threats to America's largest bottomland hardwood forest. Members of the band hope the new environmental knowledge will help result in furthering its musical efforts aimed at preserving the nation's ecosystems.

"Trees on Fire" will make public its latest release "Organica Volume Two" on Earth Day, April 22, as part of the joint musical and environmental effort that includes several songs that focus on a "green" theme. The band recently headlined the Eco Week Festivities in their home state of Virginia with a closing show at the Charlottesville Pavilion.

Following their maiden voyage thru the basin, "Trees on Fire" is recording at Dockside Studios in the nearby bayou town of Maurice with New Orleans based producer Eric Heigle under the independent label, Drake Records, founded in 2008 by lifelong Baton Rouge resident Andrew Hunter.

More information about the group and its joint efforts with South Louisianan environmental efforts can be found on www.treesonfire.com or at www.basinkeeper.org.
