Tracy Lawrence (Rocky Comfort Records) is pleased to announce once again the
Tracy Lawrence Foundation Golf Classic. Celebrating its fifteenth year, the charity golf tournament will be held Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Texarkana Golf Ranch in Texarkana, Texas.
For the past 14 years, the Tracy Lawrence Foundation (Foreman, Arkansas) has positively influenced and improved hundreds of thousands of residents' lives by donating more than 1 million dollars to over 35 communities and civic groups in and around Foreman. Each year, 60-plus teams (240 players) play for the benefit of the foundation.
To date, the Tracy Lawrence Foundation has supported a number of charitable organizations and contributed to various community and educational facilities including assembling and equipping a computer lab for Tracy's alma mater, Foreman High School; constructing an outdoor pavilion for Watersprings Ranch, a home for abused and neglected children dedicated to restoring their childhood; being an active, repeat sponsor for the Alzheimer's Walk in Texarkana (Tracy is also the national spokesperson for the Alzheimer's Association); sponsoring the local CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) which places abandoned and abused children with foster parents; funding two scholarships to assist with housing, food, books and tuition expenses for students at Texarkana College and Southern Arkansas University; and providing funding for books at Foreman Public Library.
"It's so important to me to give back to the community where I spent my childhood...where my life took shape," said Lawrence. "I'm in a place in my life where I can help friends, families and communities mold the future of others and that's a wonderful gift to give."
Tracy was raised in Foreman and made the move to Nashville, TN in 1991 when he was 23 years old. He started the Tracy Lawrence Fund, Inc., a 501-C3 organization, just two years after being in Music City. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to successfully launch his own record label Rocky Comfort Records in 2006. Over his eighteen-year musical career, Tracy has celebrated 17 No. 1 singles, 22 top 10 singles and has sold more than 8 million albums elevating him to multi-platinum status. Tracy just released his new single, "Up To Him," from his upcoming inspirational CD, THE ROCK, (his tenth solo recording project) which is scheduled for a June 2009 debut.
All proceeds from the golf tournament will be donated to the Tracy Lawrence Fund, Inc. to further community growth and improvement. The Texarkana Golf Ranch is located at 7401 Scott Wright Road, Texarkana, TX / Tel. 903-334-7401. Golf fee is $135 per person or $500 per team (4 persons).
