NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Records) - Heading into the fourth annual Campus Consciousness Tour, Boston favorite Guster, teams up once again with the environmental action group Reverb educating and encouraging students to take part in earth-friendly practices. Reverb, a non-profit environmental organization founded by Guster's guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner and his environmentalist wife Lauren Sullivan, educates and engages musicians and their fans to promote environmental sustainability.

"After the incredible student response to the 1st Campus Consciousness Tour in 2006, we decided to make it an annual thing," says Gardner. "Now in its 4th year, I am still blown away by the students' passion to make a real change on their campuses and beyond. So far, the CCT has reached over 300,000 students face-to-face on campuses across the country, kept 1.7 million pounds of carbon dioxide from the air, used over 8,000 gallons of biodiesel, and partnered with over 140 campus environmental groups."

This year's Campus Consciousness Tour kicks off on April 7th at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. The 12-date run will include daytime environmental activities on campus, and culminate with an interactive Eco-Village at each concert. The Eco-Village will feature alternative energy and transportation exhibits, campus, local and national environmental groups, eco-friendly product sampling, and several calls to action in which students can win prizes like an autographed First Act guitar and a Specialized bike.

This year, the Tour's main partners include the Sustainable BioDiesel Alliance, Planet Aid and Silk Soymilk. During the day, students can check out biodiesel workshops and participate in clothing drives at the shows, all while gaining the opportunity to win a meet-and-greet with Guster! Silk Soymilk will be sampling free chocolate soy milk at the concert and educating fans about their commitment to the environment. "After a year and a half of writing and recording, I'm excited to play music in a live setting again," says Guster frontman Ryan Miller. The band has been working on a new album set to be released at the end of the year, and will be debuting new material on the tour.

Guster continues their success as a leader in the field of environmental touring by expanding their internal greening program and directly tapping into the fans they hope to activate. Gardner recently testified to Congress about the need for sustainably produced biofuels and addressed over 11,000 student leaders as a keynote speaker at Powershift '09.

"Campuses have traditionally led the way for positive change in this country," says Gardner. "Guster is in the unique position to help be a catalyst and support those students who are already fighting the good fight."
