New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - On April 26, 2009, the Louisiana State Museum at the historic Cabildo in New Orleans' Jackson Square will open a Ponderosa Stomp exhibit in collaboration with the Ponderosa Stomp Foundation titled "Unsung Heroes: The Secret History of Louisiana Rock & Roll." The exhibit continues and expands the Foundation's mission to shine a light on the unsung heroes of American music and opens just one day before the Ponderosa Stomp Music Festival, April 28 and 29, at the House of the Blues in New Orleans.

Highlights include a 1947 Wurlitzer jukebox; an original bottle of Hadacol (a tonic that was the subject of several "medicine shows"); James Black's drum set; Slim Harpo's guitar; Fats Domino's piano; Louisiana blues legend Lazy Lester's harmonica; a Shirley & Lee concert poster from 1955; and an original sign from Louisiana Music Hall of Famer Cossimo Matassa's historic J&M Record Studio, where Fats Domino, Little Richard, Ray Charles, Dr. John, and others cut groundbreaking sides.

The exhibition was co-curated by The Louisiana State Museum and The Ponderosa Stomp Foundation, founded by Dr. Ira "Dr. Ike" Padnos (also the festival's producer). Standard adult admission is $6 and the Cabildo is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm.

The New York Times called the Ponderosa Stomp "a party on its way to becoming an institution," while The LA Times called it "a wail of a time." The Ponderosa Stomp continues to elevate some of America's most pioneering performers by bringing their names back into the spotlight and creating incredible, once-in-a-lifetime on-stage collaborations.
