A self-described "boy next door" who has an undeniable verve for life, Matt Gary sings his heart out. The 26-year-old Kansan is drawn to "reality" songs and he is poised to make his dream become a reality with the release of his new single "The Days You Live For." **
Written and produced by Frank Myers, the song is a story of "firsts" and is the first release from Matt's debut CD (by the same name) set to hit shelves in late summer. Expressed through Matt's warm and welcoming vocals, blanketed in subtle guitar and drums that rock gently, the heartfelt lyrics and soothing tune create an easy and inviting listen. The lighthearted melody will bring a smile to the listener's face as they recall and relive their most memorable lifetime moments such as their first kiss, first car, getting married or noticing for the first time the natural beauty the world has to offer.
"This song is the perfect introduction to Matt Gary, as a person and as a recording artist, because it's everything I believe in," Matt introduced. "It's about remembering what's really important in life and who and what made you the person you are today. It's about enjoying and living everyday to the fullest and not taking life for granted. It's my 'Live Like You Were Dyin' song, an anthem to 'live' by."
Matt is a graduate from the University of Tampa, with not one, but two degrees (a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and a B.A. in Digital Art with Concentration in 3-D Animation).
Fulfilling his lifelong dream..."The Days You Live For" is scheduled to be released April 2, 2009 (March CDX Vol. 449). The corresponding music video is in production and slated to be released to national television in the coming weeks.
Matt will be an active participant in CRS-40 activities and embark on a radio promotion tour beginning the first week of April; Grassroots Promotion (Nashville, TN) will head up the radio promotion.
