New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ FreeHam Records) - With the release of Till I Get It Right, Mark Winklers ninth release and his first on FreeHam Records, jazz critics are already raving about the veterans latest creation.

Jonathan Widran of Jazziz writes, “Always sly and cool, yet passionate as a vocalist, his wonderfully compelling, distinctively vivid lyrics tell tales that are clever and witty one minute, lovelorn and heartbreaking the next.” Christopher Loudon of Jazz Times says, “There isnt anything fake about Mark Winkler. Hes the real deal, and cool - Dave Frishberg cool, swimming pool cool, Sunset Strip cool.” Many revered vocal albums are filled with classics from the Great American Songbook. But Mark Winkler writes originals. Joined by collaborators like Joshua Redman, Mike Melvoin, and Dan Seigel, Winklers freshly minted songs on Till I Get It Right sound like decades-old classics.

The co-creator of five long-running Off-Broadway musicals, Winkler is a platinum-selling singer/lyricist who has had more than 150 of his songs recorded by internationally acclaimed artists, including Dianne Reeves, Randy Crawford, Liza Minnelli, Bob Dorough, David Benoit, and Lea Salonga. Indeed, Mark recently received a GLAAD nomination for his musical Play It Cool. Two songs from the Off-Broadway hit, “Future Street” and “In a Lonely Place,” are featured on his new album.

Till I Get It Right features renowned jazz musicians Anthony Wilson (guitar), Bob Sheppard (sax), Jamieson Trotter (piano), and a special guest appearance by Cheryl Bentyne of Manhattan Transfer, who duets with Mark on a swinging Winkler composition entitled "Cool”. Mark will be celebrating the release of Till I Get It Right on both coasts. On March 29th, hes booked with Cheryl Bentyne for a CD release party in Hollywood, at Catalina Bar & Grill Jazz Club, located at 6725 W. Sunset Blvd. On April 4th, the East Coast CD release party at the Laurie Beecham Theatre at the West Bank Cafe, 407 W. 42nd Street in New York City features special guest Mary Foster Conklin.

Till I Get It Right hits the streets April 2, 2009, and is available at all online retail outlets, including CDBaby, Amazon, and iTunes. Visit the official Mark Winkler Website for Marks full biography, photos, videos, song samples, and more.
