Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Cody McCarver Official Website) - For the next 10 days, PLC recording artist Cody McCarver is going to be searching for his
Valentine on MySpace. Visit McCarver's MySpace site, www.myspace.com/codymccarver, add him as a friend if you haven't already, listen to his current single 'Look What You've Done,' and leave a comment about what the love song means to you. A name will be randomly drawn from those who leave comments and McCarver will treat that someone and a friend to a special Valentine's Day with flowers, chocolates, dinner, and a Cody McCarver goodie bag including his new CD.
McCarver has a few Valentine's Day traditions of his own. 'I like to buy all of my girlfriends flowerswinkwink,' the country music outlaw says laughing, 'and then I go hang out at the bar with the rest of the lonely guys.' 'Seriously, I like to go spend time with my favorite women every Valentine's Dayand that's my mom and my daughterand my girlfriend if I have one at the moment. I'll take my daughter out and buy her whatever she wants for Valentine's Day and then take her and my mom out for a nice dinner.'
McCarver's love song 'Look What You've Done' is currently climbing national music trade charts and stands as his fastest moving single to date. After the single was launched, it appeared on Music Row magazine's 'Top 10 Most Added' [to radio station playlists] for three consecutive weeks and began its chart climb.
'Not every red-blooded macho man is good at being lovey-dovey, sugary or sensitive when the mood calls for it,' notes McCarver, 'and I am one of those guys. This is a straight-to-the-point, cut-to-the-chase, man's man love song. The sort of song that Sam Elliott or Clint Eastwood might say 'I Love You' witha tough guy 'I Love You' song. I'm thrilled with the response we're getting from fans. We've received a lot of calls and e-mails from people wanting to use it in their weddings. That's cool!'
One good love song deserves another. McCarver's last single, a remake of the Rod Stewart-penned pop mega-hit 'Tonight's The Night,' peaked at No. 18 on the Music Row chart. According to Music Row, that position marked the highest of any small label artist since Pirates Of The Mississippi's No. 18 with 'Fishbait.' His prior singles include 'Red Flag' and 'Through God's Eyes,' both of which reached the Top 25 on Music Row and garnered him two awards, Music Row's Independent Artist award and Music Row's Independent Breakout Artist Of The Year award. The 'Red Flag' video reached No. 1 on CMT Pure's 'Pure 12-Pack' countdown. McCarver is a partner in the independent PLC Records label.
