Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Cold River Records) - Katie Armiger will release the third single, 'Trail of Lies,' from her critically acclaimed second album, Believe, to radio today. The single, which Katie co-wrote with Lisa McCallum and Quinn Loggins, is a playful upbeat song about catching a guy in his cheating ways. The single has already received a great response and looks to have a very promising debut at radio. 'This is one of my favorite songs to perform live because it so playful and fun that the crowd really gets into it,' said Katie. 'I have had people come up to me after shows and talk about how they related on a personal level to the song and walked away from a cheating guy. I always feel compelled to hug them for their strength to walk away. We had such a good time writing this song so I am glad that people respond positively to it.' 'Trail of Lies' came out of a guitar riff Quinn played for Katie that she could not get out of her head. The lyrics just flowed out of the three songwriters when Quinn played it again. In true Katie fashion the song portrays a strong female standing up to the guy, 'I'm so much more than a pretty face so watch me beat you at your own game.' The video for the single was shot in downtown Nashville and includes several dance sequences which was a first for Katie, who worked with a local choreographer. Fans can check out the video early next month. Katie set a record as the highest charting independent female artist on R&R Indicator since 2006 with the second single from Believe, entitled 'Unseen.' That single also garnered Katie another milestone when she was featured as the 'Discovery Artist of the Week' on iTunes this past Summer and recorded one of the highest download weeks ever seen by a country Discovery Artist. Katie also set a record on Music Row with her debut single '17 In Abilene' landing the highest charting debut for a solo independent artist since 2003.
