Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/
Brad Paisley Official Website) -
Brad Paisley extends his record-setting run of No 1 singles to nine consecutive, non-seasonal chart-toppers - a feat unmatched by any other country artist in the 19-year history of Nielsen BDS-monitored airplay - as 'Start A Band' hits No 1 this week. This is Paisley 's thirteenth No 1 of his career. 'Start A Band,' a duet with friend and fellow guitar-slinger Keith Urban, is from Paisley 's latest release, the guitar-driven mainly-instrumental Play.
The reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year launches the final leg of the Paisley Party Tour this weekend with shows in Memphis, Little Rock, New Orleans and Pensacola. Fellow Opry member and friend Dierks Bentley will be his very special guest on the 25 day tour with Darius Rucker opening January dates and Crystal Shawanda February dates.
The Paisley Party Tour will have played to over 60 cities when it plays the final show in Nashville on March 14. The tour is continuing its success with venue capacities having to be increased in nearly every market. More than 200,000 tickets have been sold so far for the remaining 25 shows and will rank the tour as one of the top tours in the first quarter of 2009.
'People are buying tickets and coming to shows, especially in this economy I know they've made a choice between my show and something else. I really want to give them their money's worth. I want to be as creative as I can. It's about going out there and doing my best and giving them the biggest, coolest show we can," says Paisley.
'Brad is continuing his ascension into the superstar strata of the music business. He is really letting his fans get to know him through his live shows, as they are a reflection of all things Paisley . The musicianship is second to none, the set is both breathtaking and comfortable at the same time, and he genuinely enjoys playing for his fans, and that shows every night,' says Brian O'Connell, President Nashville Touring - Live Nation. 'We sat down early on in this journey and Brad stated that he wanted to keep prices reasonable and he absolutely has accomplished that goal. He also wanted to make sure that his fans received real value for their money, and that is evidenced by his new tour mates Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker to kick off this leg. This is certainly a show that fans will not want to miss.'
'Paisley is a heartthrob and a hit maker, but unlike so many others who fit that double-bill, Paisley's also a first-rate musician, a smoking guitarist who can stand shoulder to shoulder with Nashville 's finest.' Curtis Ross, Tampa Tribune
'For Paisley , the live show spares no expense, but he doesn't seem to need confetti or fireworks or gimmickry. There's certainly enough fireworks going on on his guitar.' Janis Fontaine, Palm Beach Post
'...he proved that he's a terrific songwriter, great guitarist, delightful personality (with a wonderful sense of humor) and inspired entertainer (he may be the only star who creates his own animated videos).' Jon Bream, Minneapolis Star Tribune
