Amoeba Records recently released Wrembel's 'Gypsy Rumble: The Stephane Wrembel Trio with Special Guest David Grisman.' The album, which features the track 'Big Brother' from Woody Allen's new film 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona,' highlights Wrembel's career and includes bluegrass legend and master mandolinist, David Grisman. 'Gypsy Rumble' is a quintessential album of gypsy jazz fusion and traditional melodies with Contemporary Jazz, Indian, African and Middle Eastern musical influences.

Wrembel was raised in Fontainebleau where he began his musical studies as a boy using a cheap electric guitar given to him by his parents. He was originally introduced to gypsy jazz while studying at the American School of Music in Paris where he was exposed to the music of celebrated guitarist Reinhardt.
Wrembel says of the first time he heard Reinhardt's 'Minor Swing', 'I fell in love with the music and dedicated my life to playing it.' Wrembel learned the fine art of the gypsy jazz guitar while traveling with gypsies after he attended a Django Reinhardt festival in Samois. He subsequently brought the music to clubs in France, making a name for himself performing traditional and Django-inspired gypsy jazz. After finishing his studies in Paris and then Berklee College of Music in Boston, Wrembel moved to New York City where he continues to record and perform.
