Christian Rock Legend Returns With New Single; Album

Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ dPulse Recordings) - As lead vocalist and frontman of PETRA during that band's rise to the forefront of the CCM scene, Greg X. Volz is widely recognized as one of the genre's founding artists.

With over 7 million albums sold, numerous No 1 singles, 3 GRAMMY Awards and multiple Dove Awards, Petra's fusion of pop and arena rock with a positive message propelled the band to worldwide acclaim and induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

'God Only Knows', the forthcoming new studio album from Greg X. Volz is a bold musical statement that marks the return of this groundbreaking artist.

Following the successful release of 'In The Course of Time', a retrospective collection of solo tracks that also marked the first-ever Greg X. Volz digital release on the dPulse Recordings/INgrooves label, the new album now marks a full-fledged return to the vangaurd of the CCM scene.

Produced with Petra bandmate John Lawry and featuring guests including Kirk Henderson, Will McFarlane and former members of the CCM supergroup Sonicflood, 'God Only Knows' finds Volz reclaiming his role as the genre's most influential voice.

Fueled by the hard-rocking title track and first single (releasing on iTunes and all major digital music retailers December 9, 2008), 'God Only Knows' is an artistic masterstroke from one the Christian music's true legends.

While the title track definitely evokes the raw, blues-rock of artists such as Led Zeppelin and Bad Company that influenced Volz from his earliest days as leader of the pioneering eBand, 'God Only Knows' deftly weaves a sound that is positive, energetic and clearly radio-ready.
