OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. (Top 40 Charts/
Way Out West Records) - New Country-Rock artist, Shawna Russell and her record label,
Way Out West Records, LLC, have agreed to a two year non-exclusive sponsorship deal with Lance Faulkner, owner of the
Little River
Music Valley concert amphitheater and affiliated recording company,
Music 4 Life Studios, located in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Under the arrangement, Russell will perform a series of shows at the venue and carry the concert facility and recording studio's logos on her web sites and promotional materials in return for marketing and tour support.
The first concert in the series will happen when Russell headlines the "Oklahoma's Rising Stars" concert and contest at the Little River Music Valley, on Sunday, September 28.
While Shawna Russell is not a contestant in the "Oklahoma's Rising Stars" talent show, she is truly an Oklahoma star on the rise, and is happy about the sponsorship and pleased to be a part of an event that will help newcomers.
Russell states: "I am very excited to be affiliated with the Little River Music Valley and Music 4 Life Studios. I am also proud to be a part of the "Oklahoma's Rising Stars" concert. When I started in the music business, I was constantly looking for venues that would provide valuable exposure for me and the experience of performing in front of a live audience. This concert will provide both to budding artists."
The "Oklahoma's Rising Stars" contest will feature five hopeful local and regional Country, Americana, Southern Rock and Rock musical contestants including J.C. Hopkins & the Dead Cowboys; Brandon Lee & Lariat; Tessa Rae Newman; Jason Stringfellow & Ordinary Outlaws, and J.W. & the Double Clutch Band who will perform in concert and vie for prize packages that include a professionally recorded and produced 3 song studio demo, customized MySpace web page, professional photographs, an Electronic Press Kit, a professionally written entertainment bio, an Ibanez Acoustic Guitar, Fender Electric guitar, and other musical accessories.
Russell's special guests for the evening will be popular regional band, Fat Dixie .
Russell's debut CD, Goddess, released in March of this year has won critical acclaim for the Oklahoma native from Country Weekly, Maverick Magazine and The Oklahoman, among others. Her second single, "Should've Been Born With Wheels," is currently gaining radio airplay across the nation and in Europe.
