New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Boz Scaggs reveals his approach to creating his new collection of standards, 'Speak Low,' was first, "to find an emotional connection." This goal is evident on "Invitation," the opening track of this celebratory new album. When Scaggs sings of the "glow of temptation," the multi-dimensional GRAMMY award-winning musician paints an autumnal love scene.

Scaggs explains, "We played around a lot with different tempos and feels, pushed the songs in different directions." The all-star band of keyboardist Gil Goldstein, percussionist Alex Acuna, bassist Scott Colley, vibraphonist Mike Mainieri and saxophonist Bob Sheppard, slows down the rhythm and lures in listeners with a come hither vibe. Scaggs adds, "Me, I stick close to the melodies... I am enthralled with the melodies. I don't go out and jump off the cliff, I try to find my place inside the tunes, by adding little rhythmic elements."

'Speak Low,' the follow up to the No 1 Jazz album 'But Beautiful,' is out on vinyl September 30th and October 28th digitally and on CD via Decca. Scaggs will kick off a month long tour of intimate jazz clubs October 28th in Napa.
