Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Jamber Records) -
Amber Rhodes (Jamber Records) has teamed up with Lari White to record her sophomore country music project.
Rhodes, who is a self-published songwriter (Nashville/ASCAP) and recording artist (Jamber Records), made her national introduction to the country music scene with her debut CD entitled GOODBYE YESTERDAY (Stray Dog Records, NYC/2007). She returns to the studio to record her follow-up album with Lari White at the helm. The new independent project will feature solo writes by Ms. Rhodes and co-writes by Rhodes and White.
Amber has an extraordinary flair for classically crafted hooks and lyrics and catchy melodies; GOODBYE YESTERDAY highlighted four solo writes and six co-writes by the songstress. The new collection (yet to be titled) will offer a tantalizing assortment of spunky, up-tempo melodic stories and heart-felt ballads.
"My music represents exactly who I am...with a little bit of humor, sensitivity, edge and a whole lot of fun," Amber introduces. "Like most writers, I write a lot from personal experiences. My songs reveal where I've been, where I am and where I hope to be. The ride thus far has been exciting and fulfilling. Creatively and musically, I could not be in better hands than those of Lari White; Lari gets me. I am elated with how it's all coming together."
Amber was named "Who New to Watch" in 2008 (CMA Close-Up Magazine). She was a finalist in "American Idol" - Songwriter and has graced the pages of CMA Close-Up Magazine and Country Weekly. Amber is scheduled to appear in the upcoming CMA Close-Up "Artist Debut Spotlight." Most recently, she hosted her own songwriting competition (the Amber Rhodes Songwriting Contest), a national radio promotion/contest held to encourage and entice songwriters (from novice to accomplished) to submit their material to win a co-writing session in Music City with Amber, a single song publishing deal with a notable publishing company, and a professional recording of the demo.
"Amber has a vibrato that sounds like a combination of Dolly Parton and Sheryl Crow," Lari shared. "She's beautiful inside and out; she has a 'light' that is captivating and it shines in her music."
White, in her own right, is a successful country/gospel music singer/songwriter, recording artist, producer and actress. She launched her music career as a recording artist signed to RCA Records, charted twelve singles on the Billboard Country Charts and her RCA CD, entitled WISHES, was certified gold. The Recording Academy also recognized her talents with three Grammies. Lari launched her own label (Skinny White Girl) in 2005. She made her acting debut in the 2000 film "Cast Away" and followed with a leading role in the movie "No Regrets." (Lifetime/2004) She co-produced the Toby Keith project entitled WHITE TRASH WITH MONEY.
"Lari is not only an extraordinary women, she's an extraordinary talent as a singer/songrwriter and producer," Rhodes said. "In addition to her working artist experience, she majored in music engineering, and just in the little time we've worked together, I can tell you, her technical, creative talents and care will make her one of the most sought-after producers."
A sampling of the Rhodes/White project is expected in early October.
