Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ GAC) - Last night, four prevailing finalists of the Next GAC Star - a competition launched by Great American Country (GAC) and
Music Nation - put forth their best efforts in final performances and then waited for the announcement that would change one of their lives forever. In the end, viewers chose One Night Rodeo as their choice for the first-ever Next GAC Star. After host
Robin Meade, anchor of Headline News' "Morning Express with
Robin Meade," announced the band as America's choice, they took the stage alone and performed their new single, "Alive and Living."
One Night Rodeo is composed of band members Duane Allison (bass), Mike Elrod (drums), Cory Hildreth (lead vocals) and Jack Tamburin (electric guitar). Currently rooted in Bradenton, Florida, the band was founded by Tamburin 13 years ago, and the current members have been performing together for seven years.
Moments after winning, Hildreth said, "I can't even describe the joy we have. It's incredible. I can't wait to get in the studio and actually work with Desmond Child and Victoria Shaw and see them put their stamp on 'Alive and Living.'"
Along with the title of Next GAC Star, One Night Rodeo received a Gibson Hummingbird guitar, the opportunity to film a music video, and the main ambition they'd aimed for-a record deal with Original Signal Recordings, Music Nation's artist development arm/label. One Night Rodeo will be developed jointly by Original Signal Recordings and GAC, building them as a brand, and with support from GAC through its TV, radio, and website media platforms and events.
Next GAC Star advisors and mentors Desmond Child, Jack Ingram and Victoria Shaw watched as One Night Rodeo took their first steps into the country spotlight as a signed artist in front of the in-studio and nationwide broadcast audiences.
"One Night Rodeo is a wonderful group of seasoned musicians who worked long and hard to get here," says Shaw. "I look forward to getting them in the studio and making magic happen."
Today One Night Rodeo heads in to the studio with Child and Shaw to record their single, "Alive and Living," that will be released via iTunes next week. The song was written by Neil Cody, Jon Henderson and Lynn Hutton.
In the coming months, GAC and Original Signal Recordings will continue to develop and promote the band and their upcoming album release.
