New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The epic lead track from Anat Cohen's new album 'Notes From The Village' (Sept. 9, Anzic Records) is aptly titled "Washington Square Park" after the muse that inspired the lively, multifarious number. At nearly 10 minutes the track explores myriad musical styles and exemplifies the broad scope of Anat's influences and talents. Anat, who lives and rehearses a short walk from the park, explained "I wrote the song in an effort to capture the eclectic, worldly sounds that pepper each corner of the park." On the track, Anat Cohen on soprano sax, accompanied by her quartet and special guest Gilad Hekselman on guitar, explore African rythmes, samba, Latin and other styles just as you might hear on a walk through the park. Anat will perform with her Quartet at another one of NYC's lovely parks on August 7th as part of Union Square's Summer In The Park. See details below.
