NEW YORK (Vanessa Carlton Fans Website) - Vanessa Carlton's thanksgiving likely different than years past - she will be performing along with Bon Jovi in front of a nationally televised audience during halftime at the Detroit Lions/New England Patriots football game in Detroit. So goes the life of Carlton, who rose to fame in 2002 with the success of her million-selling major-label debut, Be Not Nobody. But, while the memory might be one she'll cherish, Carlton said that Thanksgiving really means something a little more close to home in New York. She said that "Thanksgiving means suffering through chewy turkey that my mother insists is the best in the land. And it's horrible. Thanksgiving is just about appreciating and observing the craziness of your own family and it's really fun. At times it can get a little intense and crazy, but there's so much drama that happens on Thanksgiving day I think in every household, whether it's kind of underneath the surface or not, I think it's a big social experiment, especially when my mom's cooking the turkey." Carlton's headlining tour resumes December 5 in Washington D.C.
