GATES MILLS, OH. (Top40 Charts/ Hawken School) - Acclaimed pianist Orion Weiss, a 2000 graduate of Hawken School, will return home and make his Blossom Festival debut with the Cleveland Orchestra on July 20 at Blossom Music Center.

Heralded by the Cincinnati Post as a "new star on the pianistic horizon," Weiss attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Paul Schenly and is a graduate of the Julliard School where he was a student of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax.

In addition to performing with the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra and Akron Symphony Orchestra, he has also appeared with the San Francisco, Baltimore, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Phoenix, Rochester, Memphis, Annapolis, Louisville and Omaha symphony orchestras among many others.

Weiss made his Cleveland Orchestra debut while a student at Hawken in 1999, performing Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 and will make his Blossom debut performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1. He is a former resident of Lyndhurst, Ohio.
