LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Wrecking Crew Official Website) - One of the most successful "groups" of studio musicians in history, The Wrecking Crew, will be inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at noon. A highly versatile group of musicians, their talents can be heard on almost every style of recording, including television theme songs, film scores, jingles and almost every genre of American popular music.

The Wrecking Crew was a nickname given to a group of session musicians in Los Angeles, who backed up dozens of popular singers in the 1960s. They were the musicians that Phil Spector used to create his "Wall of Sound" and they were the musicians Brian Wilson trusted to bring their spirit and know how to the sound of the Beach Boys including: "Good Vibrations," "California Girls," and the highly acclaimed album Pet Sounds.

Working long hours, these first call musicians were brought in to push music to another level. Their willingness to contribute and bring new ideas to the table earned them wide acclaim in the 60's. Most of the members typically had backgrounds in jazz and classical music, but were highly versatile. Their talents can be heard on the Mamas and the Papas' recordings, on Frank Sinatra records, on Monkees singles and such legendary recordings as "Bridge Over Troubled Water" - Simon & Garfunkel, "Close to You"- The Carpenters, "I Got You Babe"- Sonny & Cher and "Mr. Tambourine Man"- The Byrds to name just a few.

Hollywood's RockWalk is the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution of Rock 'n' Roll, Blues and R&B. The Wrecking Crews handprints will reside alongside the handprints, signatures, and faces of other equally accomplished musicians and innovators such as Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, John Lee Hooker and Earth Wind & Fire among numerous others.
