Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Lilly Ray Records-Igo Records) - Becky Schlegel's 'Bound For Tennessee' hits radio programmers' desks today via CDX Volume 447, marking the Minnesota singer/songwriter's first foray into the mainstream country radio market. Co-produced by Schlegel and banjoist/guitarist Brian Fesler, the track features a rolling piano refrain and sinuous steel guitar licks, while Becky's haunting soprano weaves a bittersweet call to the highway. Airplay Specialists Radio Promotion will be going for adds on the single on May 29. 'Bound For Tennessee' is from Schlegel's upcoming CD, FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE (Lilly Ray/IGO Records) due in stores June 17. Becky wrote this song about a musician friend who left home for the bright lights of Nashville; Schlegel, on the other hand, didn't have to go far to get her start - she took her first piano lesson at the age of five in the tiny town of Kimball, SD (population 700), and in high school, Becky joined her mother's band, The Country Benders. Schlegel continued to play with the group throughout high school, and during the summers, she also sang and played keyboards for the Mountain Music Show in the Black Hills of South Dakota. And, while Schlegel admits that she still sometimes dreams of Tennessee, she is now firmly entrenched in the vibrant Twin Cities music scene of her Minnesota home; a multi-award winning Contemporary Bluegrass/Alternative Country artist with two critically-acclaimed CDs to her credit. In the national spotlight since 1999, Becky appears frequently on RFD-TV's Midwest Country Theater and on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion. She tours regularly throughout the Midwest, and plans are underway for a radio promo/CD Release tour.
