ENCINO, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Academy Of Country Music) - The Academy of Country Music (ACM) is announcing that on May 16 Randy Owen and on May 17 Sugarland will perform at Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is the title sponsor of the two-day party featuring free, open-to-the-public musical performances and boot-stompin' fun. The concerts are part of the week's festivities leading up to the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

On Friday, May 16 at 10:30 p.m. PST, Randy Owen will hit the stage on Fremont Street performing songs from his debut solo album One on One. His current single "Braid My Hair" has been a fixture on the country charts since its release in early 2008. Owen was the lead singer for Alabama, which up until their 2003 Farewell Tour had received 66 nominations and 19 wins from the ACM.

Former ACM "New Duo/Group of the Year" winner Sugarland will take the stage Saturday, May 17 at 10:30 p.m., following the Academy of Country Music 5th Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride and Jam. Duo members Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are nominated for four Academy of Country Music Awards this year for their multi platinum-selling album Enjoy the Ride, including "Top Vocal Duo" and "Video of the Year" ("Stay"). The duo is also nominated for "Single Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year" for "Stay," which both Nettles and Bush produced and Nettles single-handedly wrote. Sugarland is currently working on their third album, scheduled for September release.
Both performances will be preceded by special guest performers, to be announced in May.
