Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ RCA Records) - RCA recording artist Crystal Shawanda is a featured country artist on Clear Channel's NEW! 'Artist To Watch' program for the month of March. Featured on nearly 500 radio station websites nationwide, the program includes a stream of Crystal's emotional debut single 'You Can Let Go,' which tells the story of an incredible bond between a father and daughter.

Crystal Shawanda, a Native American and citizen of both the U.S. and Canada , was born in Ontario and grew up on the Wikwemikong reservation on Canada 's Manitoulin Island . Growing up witnessing the hopelessness and despair of so many friends and family, Crystal turned to her music which she credits for saving her life. Music is her lifeline.

Crystal 's father drove a truck and would occasionally let Crystal ride with him on his North-South run which went through Nashville . During one of these trips at the age of 13, Crystal performed at Nashville 's famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and earned her first standing ovation. A few years later, she began her permanent gig at Tootsie's. Her powerful, high-energy performances are what landed Crystal her record deal. In Ojibwe, Shawanda means 'Dawn of a New Day' and a new day is what music has given Crystal . She is now driven to share her message and her music to those who are in need of hope - just like Loretta Lynn, her lifelong hero, did for Crystal 's mother each day on the reservation.

Crystal 's debut album, Dawn Of A New Day, which was produced by Scott Hendricks, will be released this summer. 'You Can Let Go' was written by Cory Batten, Kent Blazy and Rory Lee Feek.
