Ingenue Kate McGarry Takes Over Dizzy's On March 3, 2008

New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Palmetto Records) - Songwriter/vocalist Kate McGarry is set to shine at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola @ Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday, March 3rd. McGarry will offer a retrospective from her three Palmetto Records releases as well as a sneak peak at her spring '08 release which features standards, originals and jazz renditions of songs by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, The Cars and others.

McGarry's critically lauded latest release 'The Target' (Palmetto Records) was chosen as one of Downbeat's top CDs of 2007 and Norman Provizer of the Rocky Mountain News recently declared that McGarry "places her own "beyond category" stamp on the material [she chooses], a distinction that most reminds me of the late Eva Cassidy…. There is a similarity between McGarry's and Cassidy's vocal sound, as well as in the wide range of material that both cover."

McGarry's exhilarating lineup for the show will comprise Keith Ganz on guitar, Gary Versace on piano, organ and accordion and Clarence Penn on drums and percussion.
