New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Palmetto Records) - Critics are embracing bassist, producer, composer and arranger Ben Allison's new album 'Little Things Run The World,' set for release on January 22 on Palmetto Records. • The New York Daily News declares that the album accomplishes 'a rare feat for modern jazz: ...equally accessible and avant.' • Paste Magazine's stellar four star review points out that the 'veteran jazz bassist steps up to the first tier.' • JazzTimes hails Allison's 'folk intrigue, jazz sophistication and rock 'n' roll punch.' 'Little Things Run The World' is Allison's seventh full length album and marks his tenth year with Palmetto Records. The album's title is a reference to a speech by renowned microbiologist E.O. Wilson and a reflection of Ben's interest in science and environmentalism. He recently explained to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, "I'm a scientist at heart, but in the way that scientists, exploring the most far-reaching theories, are pushing up against the boundaries of what's known. They are interested in exploring that mysterious moment that can't be explained yet. The best scientists raise more questions than they answer." Ben Allison and his band Man Size Safe will celebrate the release of 'Little Things Run The World' at NYC's famed National Arts Club on Tuesday, February 5th at 8pm.
