Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ GAC) - Multiple Grammy Award winner and entertainer Dwight Yoakam is kicking off 2008 in high gear. He has been named Great American Country (GAC) TV's "Artist Of The Month" for February 2008 and is taping a special Top 20 Countdown for CMT with Vince Vaughn. Yoakam has also announced an appearance at the 2nd annual Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA this May. His performance is in support of his critically acclaimed new album Dwight Sings Buck which was chosen as one of the TOP 50 ALBUMS OF 2007 in both the critic and reader polls in No Depression and is in the TOP 20 ALBUMS OF 2007 in the Montreal Gazette.! The album, which Yoakam recorded in tribute of his friend and mentor Buck Owens, was also honored as the No 6 album on AMAZON'S TOP COUNTRY ALBUMS of 2007 list.

As February's "Artist Of The Month" GAC will honor Yoakam, his career, and DWIGHT SINGS BUCK, with ads and promotional spots on GAC and www.gactv.com, a sweepstakes giving lucky winners the chance to see Dwight at California's Stagecoach Festival, and an in-store promotion at FYE retail stores from Feb. 1 - Feb. 29. Previous artists given this honor include Trisha Yearwood, Toby Keith and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Yoakam will also tape a special CMT Top 20 Countdown at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California with Vince Vaughn to air January 31st. During this unique interview, Yoakam will talk about his part in Vaughn's upcoming film/documentary release - "Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights, Hollywood to the Heartland" which features footage of both Dwight and Buck at the Crystal Palace. Yoakam will also announce an upcoming west coast studio taping/live concert, which will be hosted by Vaughn and broadcast on television, featuring live performances of the 15 tracks from Dwight Sings Buck in addition to five of Yoakam's own songs.

As part of re-launching his website (www.dwightyoakam.com) in conjuction with his album release, Yoakam debuted The Route 23 Club (www.route23club.com), a new fan club site offering exclusive access to Yoakam content - including news, pictures, video, audio, desktop wallpapers, buddy icons and special "behind the scenes" footage. The site's "Interact" section includes a members-only discussion board, where fans can communicate with each other, members of Yoakam's management team, and even Yoakam himself.

Additionally, the club features exclusive monthly contests with prizes including signed merchandise, tour meet & greets with Yoakam and concert tickets. Yoakam has also launched a new MySpace page (www.myspace.com/dwightyoakam) and Facebook page.
