New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Time Life Records) - The Blind Boys of Alabama will lead a billing of Gospel music stars, including the Dixie Hummingbirds, Chuck Campbell, and the McIntosh County Shouters, at the National Heritage Masters: Gospel Caravan concert January 25 at New York City Center. They will perform material from their forthcoming CD 'Down In New Orleans,' (Jan 29/Time Life), their first album in three years and the first in the group's nearly 70-year history recorded in the Crescent City.

The Blind Boys have been on a roll of late. "They have enjoyed a renaissance that has allowed them to live their mission," The Seattle Post-Intelligencer recently put it. The Philadelphia Inquirer concurred, "They've been at it for nearly 70 years, but the Blind Boys of Alabama are still lifting spirits with their gutsy and graceful brand of gospel singing... In their own way, The Blind Boys have given black vernacular music a 21st century significance."

WHO: Gospel music legends The Blind Boys of Alabama
WHAT: Headlining the Gospel Caravan, a WMI Concert
WHERE: New York City Center, West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues
