NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Stray Dog Records) - Stray Dog Records recording artist Amber Rhodes has been invited to perform at the School For The Creative & Performing Arts (SCAPA) on Saturday, December 29, 2007 as part of its 20th Anniversary Celebration to be held at the Thoroughbred Center on Paris Pike in Lexington, Kentucky. A 1998 graduate of SCAPA's Creative & Performing Arts Program, Amber studied theater and dance. She will appear Saturday evening in a special showcase as a member of a vocal trio alongside fellow alumni members Amy Jackson (Class of 1998) and Logan Graham (Class of 2000) as well as a member of the Alumni Choir; the choir will sing several numbers throughout the course of the evening. Born and raised in Lexington, KY, the return to the Bluegrass State during the holidays to perform at her alma mater presents itself as the perfect time to reflect on growth and experience of the past and the opportunities that lie before her. "I can't say with confidence that I would have a career in the Arts had I not had been fortunate enough to attend a school (this school), that in addition to the highest quality of education, embraces and encourages the creative talents and dreams of its students,' Amber said. 'Some of my closest friendships and fondest memories stem from my time at SCAPA as does my confidence and hope for the future. I am so pleased and honored to be a part of this celebration. May this school celebrate many more years to come." The SCAPA program provides students who are especially talented and/or interested in the fine arts (Visual Arts, Band, Strings, Vocal Music, Piano, Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Drama or Creative Writing) the opportunity to further develop and enhance their abilities in a setting that emphasizes their chosen course of study in addition to providing the mandated academic curriculum.
