Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Bill Sheffield Official Website) - American
Roots Records singer/songwriter Bill Sheffield has released his ninth album titled, Got a Gig, Gotta Go, with American
Roots Records.
A set of mostly original songs, the latest release from this Atlanta-bred Americana artist is a collection of roots-country-blues music, and a perfect follow-up to his award-winning previous album, Journal on a Shelf.
As always, Sheffield's evolved musical style blends pure emotionalism and exceptional guitar work into gritty tales of life's struggles and spiritual awakening.
"There are nights when you get absorbed by the music," he says. "Everything else disappears and you are lost in the song. Those nights are like nirvana."
Got a Gig, Gotta Go was produced by Austin, TX native Rex Schnelle, who has collaborated with the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Tim McGraw, Bill Anderson, Waylon Jennings and Chris Cagle. Schnelle's work with Sheffield has welcomed stellar reviews.
Dave Drury of Blues Matters has placed this album as a contender for "Roots Album of the Year." He wrote, "...this one is an absolute cracker. Bill's superb fingerpicking and sliding plus his passionate vocals are all over this fine set of mostly self-penned songs."
Mr Kyps, England,..."Bill Sheffield combines country, bluegrass and blues with a little bit of gospel and a lot of soul to produce some of the most beautiful acoustic music to be heard....heartbreaking songs of lost love and missed opportunities"...
Sheffield began performing his own tunes at time when roots music was coming back into favor, and throughout his years has performed in concert with a who's who of music greats including Muddy Waters, T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Delbert McClinton and Bonnie Raitt.
