Los Angeles , CA. (Top40 Charts/ Arista Records) - 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville's Carrie Underwood had a big night at the American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday. Taking home three trophies for Favorite Country Female Artist, Favorite Country Album for Some Hearts, and the coveted all-genre interactive T-Mobile Text-In award, the country star shared most wins for the evening with Daughtry.

And, on the heels of her AMA award-winning night, Carrie Underwood receives further good news this morning as her current single, 'So Small,' achieves the No 1 slot on Billboard and R&R's country airplay chart. Co-penned by Underwood, Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey, 'So Small' becomes the country star's first chart-topper as a songwriter and fifth single to go No 1 on country airplay charts.

'So Small' is the first release from the reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist's sophomore album Carnival Ride, which recently vaulted to No 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums and all-genre Billboard 200 charts with first-week sales of 527,101.
Carnival Ride earned the best-selling first week of any country sophomore album since the inception of SoundScan as well as notched the largest country debut in digital album chart history, with digital sales of 44,928.
