NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ MCN Media & Marketing) - To celebrate the holidays and the 'reason for the season,' Dawn Records introduces its newest release from flagship country music artist, Rhonda Towns.
Rhonda Towns, who released her debut CD project I WANNA BE LOVED BY YOU in April 2006, celebrates the release of her musical rendition of 'The Lord's Prayer' just in time for Christmas!
This year (2007) has brought Rhonda a number of personal challenges and life experiences. The release of 'The Lord's Prayer' is entirely fitting and reflective of Rhonda Towns both as an individual and a country music recording artist. The daughter of Reverend and Mrs. James Towns, Rhonda Towns was initially led to her career by the sounds of music that filled the church and spiritual guidance from her father and mother. In 2005, Rhonda launched her own independent label (Dawn Records). During the final phases of recording her debut CD, Rhonda held out for that one final and special song to 'complete' the project.
'It was the Holiday Season-2004 and I heard Martina McBride's a cappella rendition of 'Oh, Holy Night' when I was struck with the revelation of how I wanted to finish this album,' Rhonda introduces. 'To round out the CD, I decided to record an a cappella song for 'all times' for all people. I learned to sing the prayer in church every Sunday morning and it was a natural choice for me to record it.' It was then Rhonda decided the most appropriate song for her to record was 'The Lord's Prayer??a cappella.
Rhonda will release 'The Lord's Prayer' (produced by Billy Williams) on CD-TEX Texas Music Christmas Volume 60/Christmas 2007/Number 18. The song begins with a short prolog: 'I truly believe in my heart that when you begin something you should first, always, give thanks to one that made it possible.?
This is Rhonda's third release from I WANNA BE LOVED BY YOU (produced by the famed Harold Shedd, Norro Wilson and Jim Cotton); she released two earlier singles 'I Wanna Be Loved By You' and 'Somethin' Better.' The success of the singles landed her positions on the Music Row charts and put her on the pages of CMA Close-Up, Country Weekly, Music Row, Power Source, Indie Islands, Maverick Magazine, The Denver Post and The Chicago Sun Times.
As 2007 comes to a close, Rhonda is already looking toward 2008. She is currently working with producer Biff Watson (Aaron Tippin/Hilljack/Hugh Prestwood/Emma Mae) to record her sophomore project. A mid-summer release is anticipated.
