Taylor Swift Is Great American Country's Artist Of The Month For November 2008

Knoxville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ GAC) - Barely one year into her extraordinarily successful country music career, Taylor Swift is enjoying her third Top 10 single, a platinum-selling album, the CMA's Horizon Award and the adoration of millions of country music fans - all before her 18th birthday. Taylor Swift reigns as Great American Country's Artist of the Month for November.

GAC's Artist of the Month online package gives visitors to GACTV.com the opportunity to buy a copy of Taylor Swift's dual CD/DVD, which includes a home movie of her recent meteoric career rise, edited by Taylor herself. "People my age haven't had a lot of people in country music that can speak directly to them. I've been there. I've been a country music fan, and I've been 17, so I know exactly what we go through, trying to find songs that we can relate to," Taylor Swift tells one fan wanting to know the pro's and con's of becoming a country music superstar at such a young age.

Taylor Swift burst onto the country music scene in the spring of 2006 as the focus of the initial GAC Short Cuts campaign, a series of on-air and online vignettes designed to introduce the talented singer/songwriter to new fans. Taylor followed up in the summer with release of her first single, "Tim McGraw," which rode to the top level of both the GAC Top 20 Country Countdown and the country music charts. Her self-titled album, released in October 2006, also went to No. 1 on the country music charts, selling more than 1.3 million copies. Taylor is nominated for an American Music Award for "Favorite Female Country Artist" and will be presenting at the awards on November 18th.
