NEW YORK, NY. (Top 40 Charts/ Columbia Artists Management) - Russian violinist Vadim Repin, a virtuoso of fiery passion and sensitivity who has enthralled audiences around the globe with his impeccable tone and dazzling technique, will perform three concerts with the New York Philharmonic, on November 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2007, with sought-after Chinese conductor Xian Zhang. The program consists of acclaimed Chinese composer Huang Ruo's Fanfare and Announcement from Three Pieces for Orchestra; Lalo's Symphonie espangnole, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7.

Called "the finest violinist of his generation," by London's Independent newspaper, Repin has appeared with the world's great orchestras, under such conductors as Boulez, Gergiev, Masur, and Rostropovich. Born in 1971 in Novosibirsk, Siberia, Repin, began playing the violin at age 5 and made his first public appearance six months later. In 1989, he became the youngest-ever winner of the world's most prestigious and demanding violin competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, and has since performed all over the world earning rapturous praise from critics and concertgoers alike. In October 2007, he launched himself as a Deutsche Grammophon soloist with Beethoven's Violin Concerto D major op. 61, a key work of the violin repertoire, conducted by Riccardo Muti with the Wiener Philharmonic.

Now signed to Columbia Artists Management LLC (CAMI), which is Repin's exclusive North American representative, Repin has appeared this year with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, among many others.

The performance with the New York Philharmonic on November 8th begins at 7:30 pm, while performances on November 9th and 10th begin at 8 pm.
