Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Arista Records) - Reigning ACM and CMA Female Vocalist and two-time GRAMMY winner
Carrie Underwood will celebrate the release of her much anticipated new album, Carnival Ride, with an October 23 release-date performance as part of Good Morning America's 2007 Fall Concert Series.
With the new album's first single, 'So Small,' already a Top-10-and-climbing smash, New York will welcome Underwood in no small fashion with an outdoor GMA performance in the heart of Times Square .
Carrie's release-date return to the Big Apple feels like great karma for Underwood, who launched her record-setting, six-million-selling album debut, Some Hearts, with a street-date performance on The 39th Annual CMA Awards, which aired live from New York on November 15, 2005.
With three nominations for this year's CMA Awards (including Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year for 'Before He Cheats'), Underwood was recently announced to perform on the 2007 telecast, airing November 7 on ABC Television.
Approaching the release of Carnival Ride, Carrie's Some Hearts remains the best-selling country album of 2007, with SoundScan sales of nearly 1.3 million copies this year alone. An ACM-honored Album of the Year, Some Hearts launched four consecutive No 1 country singles, and became a multi-format smash. The disc spent a remarkable 27 weeks at No 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, holding that position across multiple weeks in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
