Nightwish have acquired, and in their second inception, the band are poised for an international explosion.
Nightwish have announced a fall North American tour with dark metal titans Paradise Lost, kicking off on October 15 in Springfield, Virginia and ending in Atlanta, Georgia on November 17. This tour marks the band's first time on US soil since August 2004, readily armed with new vocalist Anette Olzon. The band will be performing compositions from their new album Dark
Passion Play as well as
Nightwish classics. Distinctively a unique fusion of guitars, keyboards and rapid-fire percussion, topped off with breathtaking operatic style vocals,
Nightwish deliver an unforgettable live show. The band is excited to bring the new era of their career to eager North American fans.
Nightwish released Dark Passion Play in the US on October 2nd, notably featuring new vocalist Anette Olzon. Already selling almost 70,000 copies in Finland since its' September 26th release, the album was certified double platinum. Marking their first studio album in three years, Dark Passion Play intertwines progressive structures with their signature symphonic melodies and haunting female vocals.
Working with the St. Martens of the Field Orchestra, along with the Metro Voices Choir, Dark Passion Play delivers an exceptionally high level of musicianship. The band has also filmed a video for their first single, "Amaranth." The video can be viewed here
