NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Aspirion Records) - Aspirion Records will release ANNIE, the sophomore CD by international recording artist Annie Sims, on October 9. The lead single, 'Everything I Know About Leavin',' is currently climbing the Music Row radio chart.

Produced by husband, Greg Sims, ANNIE is chock-full of edgy, contemporary country up tempos and touching ballads from some of Nashville 's top tunesmiths, each delivered by Sims with intensity and heart-wrenching emotion. Highlights of the CD include 'Love Never Said,' a steel guitar-drenched up tempo which reminds the listener that love is never easy; the previously mentioned, 'Everything I Know About Leavin',' a funky, sassy, rockin' track that falls somewhere between Bonnie Raitt and Wynonna, and the emotionally charged ballad of rejected love, '21 to 17.' Two of Sims' favorite evergreen covers are also included, 'Sweet Music Man' by Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton's 'Wildflowers.'

ANNIE is a slight departure from Sims' 2004 CD, Half The Moon, which was more acoustic, and leaned toward Americana . While that CD won critical acclaim, strengthened her already heady European stature (she has performed multiple theater tours there with Don Williams, Gene Pitney, and author Neale Donald Walsch), and opened doors in the U.S., Sims has always challenged herself as an artist - and she was up for the task when it came to recording ANNIE. Judging from positive reactions Sims has been receiving from radio decision makers across the country, it is a strong and confident move forward for Sims.

Sims is rightfully proud of the project. "Greg and I spent a full year researching material for this CD. We wanted to show a bit more diversity with this album and include styles such as bluegrass ("Wildflowers"), bluesy country rock ('Everything I Know About Leavin'"), up-tempo country pop, and beautiful country ballads. There isn't a song on the CD that I don't love, and I love Greg's production of each and every song."
