NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Rykodisc) - Will Hoge's newest album and Rykodisc debut, "Draw The Curtains," is set for release on October 9. Known for his relentless touring and DIY ethic, Hoge has already confirmed a 40-city national tour in support of the new album (please see below for details).
"Draw The Curtains" is Hoge's first studio album since last year's acclaimed LP, "The Man Who Killed Love." Recorded in Nashville and produced by former Wilco/Uncle Tupelo drummer Ken Coomer and Charlie Brocco (Fleetwood Mac, George Harrison), initial tracking for the album was wrapped up in just 10 days. For this album, Hoge maintained a simple approach, stating "If it moves you, then it's done. If it's perfect - but you're still not moved - then you've still got work to do."
Will Hoge is offering fans an early taste of "Draw The Curtains" with a free download of the track "Dirty Little War," available at www.willhoge.com. Other stand-outs include the first single, "These Were the Days," "Silver or Gold," the title track, "Draw The Curtains" and "Washed by the Water."
Over the course of his career Hoge has released three previous studio albums and four live albums, all of which have earned him critical acclaim and a solid fanbase. The Tennessean states Hoge "... arcs with grace, explodes with urgency and swerves with a sexy confidence... ," while The Patriot Ledger praised his third release, "The Man Who Killed Love" as "... some of the most compelling heartland rock of anyone... "
Headlining nearly 200 nights a year, Hoge has played supporting slots for The Black Crowes, My Morning Jacket and The Drive-By Truckers as well as dates at Bonnaroo. "I'm embarrassingly in love with rock and roll," he admits, "It's disgusting. We ride around and play rock and roll. On the bus after shows we listen to records and turn each other on to new music. When we get home we spend a little time with loved ones, but within 72 hours of being home we're back together listening to records again, or looking for guitars, or something. I can't lie about it, it's all-consuming." In September he will join Bob Dylan, Wilco and Bjork, among many others, at the 2007 Austin City Limits Festival.
