Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Cold River Records) - Newcomer Katie Armiger is having quite a ride since releasing her debut album last month on Cold River Records. This week people are sitting up and taking notice of this up-and-coming country music sensation with a mention in Cosmo Girl Magazine, a write up in this week's Music Connection Magazine, and the video for her debut single '17 In Abilene' landing at No 3 on CMT Pure Country. Katie has shown no signs of slowing down, kicking off the second leg of a whirlwind radio tour across the country in support of her debut album. 'Having people embrace the album and now the video the way that they have is just amazing,' said Katie. 'It has been a remarkable couple of months and I want to thank all the people who have requested my single on the radio and the video at CMT. I am excited to continue to get my music out there for people to hear.' The '17 In Abilene ' video, which was released about two weeks ago, lands just behind Flynville Train and Trisha Yearwood on the CMT Pure Country channel. The video was taped in Nashville with well known director Kristin Barlowe, who has worked with the likes of Lonestar, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, among others. The video really grasps the quintessential carefree road trip song about the possibilities of an open road. '17 In Abilene ,' Katie's debut single, which she co-wrote, is currently climbing the R&R charts. Katie is featured in this week's issue of Music Connection Magazine as part of their weekly 'Signing Stories' column. In the column Katie describes the process of putting her album together and how getting three songs pulled at the last minute inspired her to write her own material. 'You can express yourself better through your own music...It's yours,' Katie commented. She also comments on life on the road, 'You grow up a lot more on the road and my writing style is definitely changing. I still have things to learn.'
