NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media) - Morrissey's current tour began 18 months ago in Tulsa, Oklahoma supporting his UK number 1 album "Ringleader Of The Tormentors". When 2006 was brought to a close with 2 sold out shows at Manchester's G Mex Arena the tour was 90 shows in and everyone assumed that was the end. 2007 has brought another 47 shows bringing the total so far to 137 and from the now famous run of London Palladium shows to the Alexandra Palace, from Mexico City to Stockholm, from Omaha, Nebraska to The Hollywood Bowl, there have been many incredible nights all over the world and almost all of them sold out.

We are now delighted to announce the final 30 US shows of the tour and, by the time it ends on the 4th of November, Morrissey will have played 168 shows over 21 months. These shows will be the last Morrissey will do for the foreseeable future. With that in mind all of the venues have been specifically chosen, as they are small and intimate where Morrissey can see the eyes of everyone in the audience and those in attendance can be in the thick of it. The desire is to go out with some great memories for everyone as who knows what the future will bring.

The dates include extended runs in Los Angeles and New York. In Los Angeles, Morrissey will close a chapter in the famed Palladium's history: these will be the final 10 shows at the legendary venue before it closes down for an extensive renovation. New York will feature 5 nights at Hammerstein Ballroom. A "seasons ticket" will be made available in both cities eliminating all surcharges for any fans attending every show, which will provide a savings of over $50 in itself.

Also, for the Palladium run, fans will have a special, limited-time opportunity to purchase tickets to all ten concerts for the price of nine, and to gain early entry into the venue for each show. Starting at 10 AM on Monday, August 27 through 10 PM Wednesday, September 5, special 10-Night packages will be available at LiveNation.com, TicketMaster.com and via Ticketmaster Charge-By-Phone. In addition to the great savings, fans will also receive a special commemorative ticket that will allow them to go to the front of the line and get right up close in this GA setting. Considering that these are the last live dates on his calendar, this is a fantastic chance for Morrissey's diehard followers to take in every song and relish every detail of what is sure to be an amazing residency.
For the shows at Hammerstein Ballroom, a similar limited number offer applies. Fans planning to attend all 5 shows will receive a special package price of $200 thereby saving $125 off of the individual tickets, as well as a commemorative poster, and they will be allowed to go to the front of the line each night so they can be the first ones in the building and closest to the stage.

Finally, in an effort to stop the speculation and kill off the rumor mongers who seem to use these things to take advantage of committed fans, we can tell you that one thing the future will not bring is a Smiths' reunion tour. Per recent reports Morrissey was approached during the course of the summer by a consortium of promoters, in the wake of the success of The Police, U2 and The Rolling Stones tours, with a $75,000,000 offer to tour in 2008 and or 2009. The offer called for Morrissey to do a minimum of 50 shows all over the world under The Smiths' name with the only proviso being that Johnny Marr was also in the band. The offer has been refused.
