SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Saratoga Gaming and Raceway) - Saratoga Gaming and Raceway is proud to announce that the Squirrel Nut Zippers will be playing at Vapor on August 22 at 9:00pm. Shooting to national popularity as part of the swing revival of the 90s, the Squirrel Nut Zippers have performed at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, at President Clinton's inaugural ball and on major television shows such as the Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, Conan O'Brien and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve. Part swing music and part jazz; their second album, "Hot" (1996) went platinum and subsequent albums "Perennial Favorites" (1998) and "Bedlam Ballroom" (1999) received high critical acclaim and substantial sales. In the summer of 1997, their tour with Neil Young outsold the likes of U2 and Aerosmith. Their biggest hit single "Hell" was a huge hit on MTV and had a calypso feel. Their songs have been featured in many movies and in the musical "Contact," the 2000 Tony Award winner for Best Musical. In 2001, the band went on indefinite hiatus and the individual members continued to write and perform music in a variety of bands. The band recently reunited, and the 2007 tour has resulted in a high level of enthusiasm. General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Treasures Gift Shop noon until 10:00pm, by calling TIX at 800-595-4849, online at https://www.saratogagamingandraceway.com, and at Vapor the day of the show starting at 6:00pm. All seats are standing room only. There is limited seating upstairs in the Vapor Ultra Lounge. Please call 518-581-5772 for reservations.
