Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Northwind/ Aspirion Records) - Just in time for backyard BBQ's and hot fun in the summertime, Northwind/Aspirion recording artist Mike Aiken is releasing 'Back To The Beach,' his latest single off the successful Just Add Salt CD. Written by Aiken and Mike Makure the up-tempo melody and light hearted lyrics will make you pull a u-turn, head seaside, pop-a-top, and just check out of dodge for awhile.

While others may sing about the life they want to live, this Country Artist lives the life he sings about. Making his home aboard a 42 foot cutter named 'Ocean Girl' this modern-day troubadour has sailed the waters less traveled, entertaining people from Canada to the Caribbean and beyond. Mike's traveling has influenced his sound sprinkling it with a pinch of Celtic, Folk, Calypso and Caribbean music. His lyrics are filled with the imagery of surf, sun and faraway places along with the light and dark sides of life on the high seas.

'Back To The Beach' is an anthem for those trapped in the rat race. It comes on the heels of Mike's first single, ' Hillbilly Beach Bum,' which climbed up the New Music Country Charts. 'I wrote 'Back To The Beach' after sitting on my deck watching and feeling sorry for everyone stuck in traffic on a nearby freeway," says Mike. 'Hopefully this song will put people in that summertime state of mind no matter where they are or what time of year it is.'

But don't let his lifestyle or his wanderlust fool you, Mike has the musical muscle to add weight to any style song he writes. A consummate professional he plays acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and National Steel guitar. Mike's six stringed chops have earned him a Takamine endorsement and his own signature guitar aptly named the "Travelin Bone" specially designed by him for the travelin' lifestyle.

An avid environmentalist, Mike's charitable causes include, the Cousteau Society, The Beacon Project and The Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Each year he headlines and produces the annual Smithfield Music's Aiken and Friends Fest in Smithfield , Virginia benefiting music education in Isle of Wight County . This year's October 13th event has been expanded to five stages of live music and features Ray Wylie Hubbard, Danny Flowers, Mike Aiken and more.

Now anchored stateside, Mike recorded Just Add Salt aboard a retired Navy tug boat 'Bay Queen,' which he and his musical partner and wife Amy, converted into a studio. He has two previous CDs, Travelin Bone and Getaway.

Distribution is through Northwind/Aspirion Records. National Radio Promotion for the single 'Back To The Beach' is being handled by Bill Wence Promotions; Publicity by The Jayne Gang.
