Mark Farina 'House Of Om' Tour Dates @ Sullivan Room - Saturday, August 4th

(Top40 Charts/ OM Records) - The mighty MARK FARINA has rocked rooms all over the world, and at long last, he will be making his Sullivan Room debut for Basic NYC on Saturday August 4th for the Om Records "House of OM" Tour. Without a doubt, this will be one of the most memorable nights of music at the Sullivan Room, and perhaps the most significant DJs to play at Basic NYC since the party began 3-plus years ago.

Few DJs have had a more profound impact on house music than Mark Farina. The Chicagoan turned San Franciscan has influenced an entire generation of dancers, producers and DJs with his unique and uncompromising approach to music. He has been a key figure in building and developing the international "underground" house scene, and continues to be one of the most satisfying DJs to rock a dancefloor. Anyone who has ever seen him play live realizes that Mark's music is truly an extension of himself, a nuanced expression of house's dynamic ebb and flow, and rhythmic, musical bounce.

Getting bitten with the house music bug while growing up in Chicago, Farina first gained notoriety through loft parties and club gigs in his hometown. But it was his move to San Francisco in the mid-90s that pushed Farina to the forefront of house. His jazz-inflected, shuffling grooves were a perfect fit with San Fran's breezy party atmosphere, and he soon began a rigorous traveling schedule that continues to this very day.

Along the way Mark has released numerous mixes and an original artist album. He's also earned acclaim for the pioneering, downtempo "Mushroom Jazz" sound. His latest effort, a mix CD for OM Record's "House of OM" series, is trademark Farina: an 18-track showcase of both his skills and some of the hottest tracks he's been rocking over the last few months. But nothing can top the thrill of seeing Mark live, where his DJing skills can truly come to the fore. Swiftly dropping acapellas over tracks, cutting out basslines, and moving flawlesly from one ridiculous cut to another, Mark never fails to electrify a dancefloor.
