Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sony BMG) - Less than a week after rockin' country duo Montgomery Gentry racked up the greatest-gaining studio album on the Nielsen SoundScan Country and Top 200 Charts with an impressive 73% increase in sales, 'Lucky Man' has become their latest smash to hit the No 1 spot on the Billboard/R&R and Country Aircheck country airplay charts. 'Man, this is just too much,' said Eddie Montgomery. 'We just have an awesome team of people around us, and we definitely have to thank the Columbia promotion staff for sticking with this song and taking it all the way to the top.' 'Yeah, and we also have to thank the fans for requesting this song and especially country radio for being so good to us over the years,' added Troy Gentry. Reflecting the track's message of appreciating what you have in life, Eddie Montgomery noted, 'I've been very blessed, and I might be singing this song for me more than anybody. I love what it says, I love the way it flows. To me, it doesn't get any more country than this.' The accomplishment marks Montgomery Gentry's 10th Top 5 single and their third to go No 1. 'Lucky Man,' which was written by Dave Turnbull and David Lee, is the second hit single from the duo's latest Columbia Nashville disc, Some People Change.
