NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Virgin Records) - Singer, songwriter, recording artist Chris Cagle (Capitol Records-Nashville) will embark on an overseas tour to visit with and perform for U.S. Troops at military bases in Korea later this month.

Chris Cagle will depart U.S. soil the week of June 25 to perform in a string of shows at military bases in Korea. Chris will perform at Army bases located in Seoul, Daegu, Dongducheon and Ppyeongtaek, Korea for the service men and women and their families beginning with the first show in Seoul on Friday, June 29.

Enduring daytime temperatures similar to that of the Southern U.S. States, Chris will perform outdoor shows in 90? heat for audiences that range in size from 700 to 2,000. Chris will host a meet and greet after each and every show to visit with and shake the hands of each and every service member.

'It's my understanding that their station in Korea is the revolving door to Iraq,' Chris said. 'Their sacrifice is the most unselfish act of human kind and I'm really looking forward to meeting with them to thank them personally.'

This is the first overseas visit for Chris to visit with our troops. In addition to the shows, Chris will visit the DMZ (Korean Demilitarized Zone) at the border of North and South Korea and interview with the Armed Forces Radio Network and AFN in Seoul. [The Korean DMZ is a 4 kilometer-wide strip of land straddling the 151 mile long Military Demarcation Line. The opposing sides agreed under the Armistice Agreement from entering the territory, air space or contiguous waters under control of the other. Even though North Korea has committed violations at sea and in the air, and has infiltrated armed agents along South Korea's extensive coastline and outlying islands, it is in and along the DMZ that most Armistice violations have occurred. Home to some 2 million soldiers, the DMZ is the world's most heavily fortified border.]

This trip marks a break in Chris's recording and performance schedule. In addition to the multi-city shows on his tour schedule, Chris has spent the last several weeks in the studio working on his fourth Capitol-Nashville recording project with veteran producer Scott Hendricks. Hendricks is responsible for Chris's signing with Virgin Records to launch his country music career. A late fall CD release is anticipated.
