Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Curb Records) - Multi-platinum recording artist Jo Dee Messina was scheduled to perform the National Anthem and a forty five minute show at the 2007 President's Dinner last night in Washington D.C. However, at the last minute, Jo Dee volunteered to perform an additional hour long set at the beginning of the event to fill in for an ailing Trace Adkins. Jo Dee welcomed the roughly 5,000 attendees to the event with a performance of her hits and then was whisked away to meet the President. She then wowed the crowd with the National Anthem, backed by the University of Virginia 'Hullabahoos', to kick off the dinner. Jo Dee continued to impress the crowd filled with the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and other political dignitaries with a powerful performance to close the event. 'The night was wonderful. I was surprised at how many folks attended both concerts. They stayed until the very end singing every word to every song. My band, once again, made me proud by stepping up to do an extra show. We rocked 'the house,'' Messina said with a laugh 'As for Trace, I wish him a speedy recovery.' Jo Dee has been hard at work on her latest studio album, set to be released this Fall on Curb Records. Her first single 'Biker Chick,' which Jo Dee co-produced with Jerry Flowers, will be going for radio adds on July 9th. For more Jo Dee news and tour dates please go to www.jodeemessina.com.
