NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Big Machine Records) - Taylor Swift's self-titled debut album has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. The country music sensation was surprised with an official Platinum plaque by RIAA Sr. Director of Artist & Industry Relations John Henkel & Big Machine Records President/CEO Scott Borchetta at CMA Music Fest on Sunday, June 10th. The presentation took place at the Big Machine Records booth so that Taylor could share the special moment with her fans.

Her debut single, 'Tim McGraw', is a Top 5 Country hit and a Gold selling digital single (signifying sales of over 500k digital paid downloads). Her second single, 'Teardrops on My Guitar' is already Top 15 & climbing. With all this and a slew of major tour dates with Rascal Flatts, George Strait , Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw/Faith Hill, Taylor 's dreams of stardom are quickly becoming a reality.

Taylor 's songwriting skills and her commercial appeal have been recognized by critics, peers, and fans alike. She received her first award, 'Breakthrough Video of the Year' at the 2007 fan-voted CMT Music Awards in April and was invited to perform on the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in May where she created a show-stopping moment when she serenaded Tim McGraw with her hit single of the same name – meeting the country music star for the first time on live television.

With more than 17 Million plays on her official MySpace page, Taylor continues to be the site's top Country Artist and a high-ranking Overall Artist in this digital space.

Taylor completed her big day with a CMA Music Fest performance on the big stage at LP Field to tens of thousands of adoring fans who rose to their feet to celebrate and sing along with Country Music's brightest new light.
