NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ KCRW) - KCRW (89.9 FM and KCRW.com) is the official radio sponsor for the 8th annual Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) and will be heading to New York City in July for live broadcasts and more during the festivities. The four-day conference is the biggest event in the world for cutting edge Latin music and features a free show at Central Park Summerstage, industry panels, artist showcases and more.

Music director Nic Harcourt, who has been dubbed "Latin Alternative's Anglo Advocate" by The Washington Post, will be broadcasting Morning Becomes Eclectic live on July 12 and 13. KCRW nighttime DJ Raul Campos, who will host this year's conference, will also be broadcasting his show Nocturna from New York. The show blends house, down-tempo, urban-soul, and Latin rhythms together for a killer mix.

"LAMC is the most exciting music conference on the calendar and we are one of the only radio stations playing Latin Alternative artists on our airwaves, so we feel strongly about supporting them," says Harcourt, who will be on a panel entitled "Selecting the Music: How Programmers, Marketers and Music Supervisors Make Their Decisions." The panel will be held on Thursday, July 12th from 3:30-5pm.

Also, Morning Becomes Eclectic producer and native Argentinian Ariana Morgenstern, who first introduced Harcourt to Latin Alternative music at the station, will be participating in the panel entitled "This is Radio Clash: Are Satellite, Online, Public, Bilingual & Podcast Formats the Future of Latin Alternative Broadcasting?" on Friday, July 13th from 3:30-5pm.

New York is home to the KCRW.com's largest online audience outside of Southern California thanks to live streaming and "on demand" features that make our cutting edge, free-form programming easily available. Aside from panel appearances and local broadcasts from Elias Studios, KCRW will also present artist showcases at a variety of venues in New York during LAMC. The station has been presenting shows throughout the city since 2002 when we launched our successful series "KCRW.COM Presents," with Sigur Ros at the Beacon Theater. Harcourt created the series as a cross-promotional opportunity to support local concerts by artists championed on the station and expanded it to New York in response to listener demand.
