Miranda Lambert as the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter's latest release, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, debuted at No 1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Country Chart and No 6 on the Top 200 Albums Chart with nearly 53,000 copies sold in the first week. The album also entered the country digital albums chart at No 1. The number one debut is the second for Lambert, with her critically-acclaimed and platinum-selling debut album Kerosene also hitting number one the first week on the charts in 2005.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was called 'One of the best country albums of 2007' by USA Today and Miranda 'one of country music's most promising young stars' by The New York Times. Her sophomore album has received rave reviews from The New York Times, Blender Magazine,

Miranda wrote or co-wrote eight of the eleven songs on the new disc, and she called on some pretty high-profile writers to round out the album. Patty Griffin and Gillian Welch contributed their works to the collection, and the closing song 'Easy From Now On' was written by Carlene Carter and Susanna Clark and recorded by Emmylou Harris on her Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town album in 1978. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke.
Miranda is currently nominated for Academy of Country Music's Top Female Vocalist and Top New Female Vocalist and will perform her hit single 'Famous in a Small Town' on the ACM awards show May 15th in Las Vegas. In addition, she is performing on The Tonight Show May 11th, appearing on the CBS Early Show May 14th and performing on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on May 14th. She will hit the road with Toby Keith this summer on his 'Hookin' Up & Hangin' Out' tour, beginning in late June.
